DDD: Party for no discernible reason other than the White Text Guy having said so.

Whether you were invited, came of your own volition, were dragged here by some weirdos in green, or just popped up in the classic "community made you do it" fashion, you are now in THE FELT MANSION. And since Doc Scratch is and will always be an excellent host, you can count on having good food, drinks, and party games aplenty.

There isn't much he can do about the TIME SHENANIGANS, though. But you can steer clear of those if you know how. Unfortunately, there is no way to avoid the mansion's collection of A THOUSAND CLOCKS.

(Speaking of time shenanigans, you may also want to refer here for a rough explanation of what those shenanigans might be. But don't worry about it too much, really. You can just say something if you want to run into a Felt NPC and, hopefully, the shenanigans will be immensely fun for all.)

I'm fine with it usually just not when it's so... Oppressive. And this is pretty oppressive. I mean seriously, what asshole has like a thousand clocks in his house?!

I don't know... I really wish I knew what kind of asshole he was. [She's being serious now]

You mean other than a really creepy one?

Right! Like...I wish I knew what he wanted from us. And whether he's really dangerous, or just creepy.

He almost made me explode once. I think he's preeeetty dangerous, to be honest. [And Birkin also thinks he knows what Scratch wants but. He's not saying that in the polite company.]

[Blinks] Explode? you mean, literally?

Yeah. I was sitting in a chair, and then... BOOM! Gigantic explosion behind me. It flung me across the room. ...Granted I was in a wheelie chair so that might have added to the flying part.

Wow! What blew up?

Uh... The air...? I don't really remember, honestly. I was pretty much completely out of it that week. It was for that Seven Deadly Sins virus; I got stuck with sloth and couldn't. Really do much of anything, including remember things.

Huh... I wonder what he did. I'm glad you didn't get hurt too badly, though.

No one is happier about that than I am, trust me.

I think it was mostly just that he was inflicted with that virus too, as wrath. But still, it means he's pretty damn powerful.

Oh yes, there's no doubt of that...

I'm sure he's a first guardian.

First guardian? You guys have the strangest world, I swear.

[Sigh] I don't really know what they're supposed to do, but I know they're incredibly powerful.

Isn't that how it always is with you guys? "What's this thing?" "Oh we have no idea, but we do know that if you breath on it wrong? It explodes and kills everything!"

[She giggles] And you think you're frustrated?

I don't know, I've learned that when it comes to weird shit in people's worlds, if you live there for long enough, you get used to it.

Well, when it comes to weird things in our own world, I've learned to just accept things until I understand them.

See, I do the opposite: I accept nothing until I can understand it fully. I guess it comes with being a scientist though. We're not a group of people who can just accept much of anything.

[She gives him a smile] But don't you have to accept that something exists when you know it does, even if you don't understand why? Then you can try to understand it after.

When you're a scientist it's not that easy. Especially when we're dealing with my particular branch of research. In microbiology, you can't see whether or not anything exists without some help. And even when you have that help, how can you trust it to work? Eventually you get extremely skeptical and until you learn why something exists, you don't trust yourself even if you already know it exists.
